Heat Up against a Familiar Face

Worcester Wolves and Guildford Heat match up on Saturday evening, in a game that will see former Heat Coach, Paul James, coach against his former club, where the 45 year old has seen some happy times.

The Heat sit just one place above their opponents on Saturday, and James admits that whilst his team have ran the likes of Sheffield Sharks close and pulled off wins against Cheshire Jets, Everton Tigers and Glasgow Rocks amongst others, they have not performed as well as he would have liked against teams in similar league positions. He explained: 'Our game against the Heat will be tough. We have not played to the best of our ability against those teams in and around us in the league table. The Heat is another team who still have an outside chance of making the play-offs, so this will be a tough game.'

The Playoffs will be the main thing on the mind of McKnight and his players at the moment, as he commented: 'This weekend will be a test for us but I think that we will match up well with them.' He also commented on last week's heartbreaking 96-102 loss to Worthing Thunder, as he added: 'I think we played well enough to win, but a few things just didn't go our way. When we went into overtime, we had two turnovers at the beginning and after that we were just playing catch-up.' McKnight himself scored a career- high 39 points in that game, but still sees room for improvement as he tries to balance individual progress with improvement as a coach: 'I think that I am playing pretty well this season but there are still parts of my game that need to get stronger.'
