Become a Cheerleader for a Day
For girls who have dreamed of becoming a cheerleader and performing in front of a large crowd, their dreams can now come true!
Starting from Sunday 21 February, Razzle Dazzle will be running Cheerleader Workshops before Heat home games at The Spectrum. Aimed at 6-9 year olds and 10-16 year olds, each workshop will run from 1.00pm-2.00pm.
Following the one hour coaching session the workshop participants will assist the Heat Dancers with pre game activities and then will be courtside with the Dancers during the Heat’s basketball game. They will perform with the Guildford Heat Dancers in one timeout during the game. At the end of the game, the workshop participants will have a photograph taken with the Heat players and the Heat Dancers, providing them with a souvenir of their memorable day.
According to Mike Davies, general manager of the Heat, “Interest in cheerleading is at an all time high, so we are hoping that our Cheerleader Workshops will be very popular. It’s a great opportunity for children to become cheerleading stars for the day, performing at a premier league sports game. This season, we have had crowds of up to 1,000 people at our home games – so with expert tuition from Razzle Dazzle and an enthusiastic home crowd supporting the game, children will be given a fantastic opportunity to be a ‘real cheerleader’ for the day.”
Rachel Kearey of Razzle Dazzle commented ‘This is a great opportunity for girls to experience Cheerleading and be involved with the excitement of a Guildford Heat game. We are really looking forward to working with the Heat and the young people’
Children can be booked in for single or multiple workshops, depending on availability. There will be a maximum of 15 children in each workshop, so early booking is recommended. The cost of a workshop is £10.
Cheerleading Workshops will take place on 21 February, 14 March, 4 April, 11 April and 18 April. For further details or to reserve a place, call Rachel on 07989667596.
